How It All Started

A Personal Journey That Became a Purpose

Like thousands of young Kenyans, our founder Metrine Bwisa finished secondary school with big ambitions but very little guidance on what to do next. The question of which career to pursue felt overwhelming, with too many options, too little information, and almost no one to turn to for clear, honest advice.

That experience of confusion became the foundation of EduSens Africa. Founded in 2025, EduSens Africa was created with one driving purpose: to make sure that no young African has to guess their way into the most important decision of their life.

Today EduSens Africa combines career expertise, Kenya-specific research, and the power of technology to give students, graduates, and parents the clarity and confidence they need, whether through our career guides, one-on-one consultations, weekly social media content, or our AI-powered Career Explorer.

Our Journey So Far

2025: EduSens Africa Founded
Born from a personal experience of career confusion, with a mission to guide young Africans.

First Guides and Social Media Launched
Published Kenya-specific career guides on Medical and Health courses and Geospatial Science, while establishing a weekly career content presence across YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook and TikTok.

AI Career Explorer Launched
Kenya's first AI-powered career guidance tool built specifically for African students.

Founder's Story

From Personal Confusion to Continental Purpose

Metrine Bwisa is a Map Data Analyst with a Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Master's degree in Cartography from the Technical University of Munich, one of Europe's most prestigious technical universities.

Her journey through higher education gave her a first-hand understanding of how challenging and confusing career and course selection can be for young Africans. That personal experience became the driving force behind EduSens Africa, a platform that uses knowledge, technology, and lived experience to light the way for the next generation.

In addition to her technical background, Metrine has ventured into digital communication and marketing, building the skills and expertise needed to connect with her audience effectively through the digital space and bring career guidance directly to the young people who need it most.
